Isle sur Serein is a picturesque village near Avallon in the Yonne department (Bourgogne-Franche Comté). There is a Maison Medicale with dentist and physiotherapist but no general practitioner.
With its 800 inhabitants, Isle sur Serein may seem small, but it has an active municipality, and still has a nice range of commerces. In the winter there are truffle markets in the area where you can buy real Burgundy truffles, fresh from the producer.
There are two old people's homes and two homes for disabled people.
The village is a so-called ZRR zone, which means that the new GP will get five years of tax exemption.
